Meet 3D Educators and Researchers

Len Scrogan

– Digital Learning Architect, Former Director of Instructional Technology, Boulder Valley School District

Len Scrogan

A former teacher and principal, Len Scrogan was named by Electronic Learning magazine as one of nine leading educational technology consultants in the country. Len was honored as the 2008 outstanding technology education leader by the Colorado Technology Education Association. In 2009 Len was also named Outstanding Technology Administrator in the state of Colorado by the Colorado Association of School Executives (CASE-CALET). In 2010, Len's entire team was honored in Washington, D.C. with a COSN "Team Excellence" in Technology award. His publications have twice received the Educational Press Association's Distinguished Achievement Award. Len is a nationally recognized author, software designer, researcher, conference keynote speaker, and consultant. He has authored four books and 19 commercial software programs.

Len previously served as the Director of Instructional Technology and Library Media for the Boulder Valley School District in Boulder, Co. He now works as a Digital Learning Architect engaging in innovative projects in the area of 3D, visual teaching and learning, online and blended learning, and technology leadership. Len serves as an active adjunct professor for the University of Colorado-Denver and Lesley University (Cambridge), teaching in their Masters' degree programs. Most recently, Len has been speaking about 3D in education at national conferences, and is the author of the Future-Talk 3D blog.

Professor Anne Bamford

- Lead a research study on use of 3D as a teaching tool in Europe

Anne Bamford

Professor Anne Bamford is Director of the International Research Agency and Director of Education in southern England. Anne has been recognized nationally and internationally for her research in arts education, emerging literacies and visual communication. She is an expert in the international dimension of arts and cultural education and through her research, she has pursued issues of innovation, social impact and equity and diversity. A World Scholar for UNESCO, Anne has conducted major national impact and evaluation studies for the governments of Denmark, The Netherlands, Belgium, Iceland, Hong Kong, and is currently undertaking a study in Norway. Amongst her numerous articles and book chapters, Anne is author of the “Wow Factor: Global research compendium on the impact of the arts in education” which has been published in five languages and distributed in more than 40 countries.

Kristin Donley

- High School Teacher, Colorado Teacher of the Year Finalist

Kristen Donley

Kristin Donley is the Science Research Seminar Coordinator and a science and STEM instructor with the Boulder Valley School District (Monarch High School) and the University of Colorado-Denver CU Succeed Program. Kristin has been teaching over 17 years and has participated in several technology pilots including Einstruction clickers and Mobi boards, podcasts/vodcasts, and 3D projection/software. She is a member of the BVSD Informational Technology Governance Committee and has taught technology classes at the Technology in Education Conference in Colorado and ISTE for over 13 years. This past year Kristin was awarded Colorado Teacher of the Year Finalist.

Dr. Carole Hruskocy

Dr Carol Hruskocy

Dr. Carole Hruskocy has over 25 years of experience in education at both the elementary and higher education level. She is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Education and Counseling at Regis University where she oversees two master degree programs - Instructional Technology and Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. Dr. Hruskocy served as one of the researchers for the Boulder Valley 3D pilot project and has presented both nationally and internationally on a variety of topics including technology integration, faculty development for online facilitation and course development, and assessment of student learning.
